Somewhere alternative

Somewhere Alternative: Hire an Executive Assistant HelpFlow Manages

With Somewhere, managing your assistant's performance is your job. HelpFlow recruits, trains, and keeps managing your executive assistant for you.

What Somewhere sells

Somewhere recruits remote talent, executive assistants included, through two models. With Direct Hire, you pay a one-time fee based on your new hire’s first-year salary, and the hire joins your team as your employee. Somewhere’s Direct Hire page says “You manage performance, growth, and communication.” You also run payroll and onboarding. Each hire carries a six-month guarantee with one free replacement.

With Talent On-Demand, Somewhere runs payroll and compliance for a monthly fee on top of the contractor’s salary. Replacements are unlimited within the contract period, and the minimum engagement is six months. Its FAQ for that model says “You just manage performance, we handle everything else.”

Why HelpFlow

An executive assistant we recruit, train, and keep managing

01

Hired and managed by HelpFlow

We recruit, hire, and train your executive assistant. After onboarding, a dedicated success manager keeps managing them. The service grew out of the customer service operations we run for ecommerce brands.

02

Your work and your personal admin

Your assistant handles your email and calendar along with travel, expenses, and projects. Household admin like appointments and gifts is part of the service too.

03

A daily report and a weekly review

Your assistant sends an end-of-day summary of what was handled and what's waiting on you. Your success manager runs a weekly business review with you to adjust scope and priorities.

04

AI for drafts, people for judgment

We set up an AI brief of your inbox and calendar during onboarding. Your assistant uses AI for drafts and summaries and makes the judgment calls.

Why choose HelpFlow over Somewhere

Somewhere’s two models both leave your assistant’s performance with you. At HelpFlow, managing your assistant stays our job after the hire. Your success manager owns quality and continuity. Your assistant reports to you every day, and we review the work with you every week.

We also run the onboarding. It starts with a five-minute interview and an AI brief of your inbox and calendar, and we QA every deliverable for the first four weeks while your assistant learns your week.

What you pay HelpFlow covers recruiting and training along with ongoing management. The terms are month-to-month. You can read how this has worked for a private lending company and for a merchandise company.

When Somewhere fits, and when HelpFlow does

Somewhere fits when you want to employ your assistant yourself, manage them day to day, and pay once for the search. Talent On-Demand fits when you want payroll and compliance handled but still want to direct and review your assistant’s work yourself.

HelpFlow fits when you’d rather hand the management to someone else. It also fits when you want month-to-month terms with no lock-in.

Questions about switching

Who manages my assistant’s performance at HelpFlow?

Your success manager does. We QA every deliverable for the first four weeks, and after that you get a daily report from your assistant and a weekly business review with your success manager.

What happens in the first month?

We start with a five-minute interview and build an AI brief of your inbox and calendar from it. Through those first four weeks your assistant takes on more of your week, and we QA every deliverable along the way.

What’s included in what I pay HelpFlow?

It covers your assistant’s recruiting and training as well as onboarding and ongoing management. With a Somewhere direct hire, the fee pays for the search while payroll and management stay with you.
